Founded in 1988, the company Variant-Inform is the oldest commercial enterprise in Dimitrovgrad. Since then and up to the present time the firm has been rendering services on the basis of modern information technologies, finding opportunities for introduction into new areas of telecommunications business and providing the most modern means of communication: Internet service, cellular telephony of GSM digital standard, IP-telephony, paging communication.
The aim of the company's work is to provide the full range of services required by customers.
The most inexpensive and popular type is paging communication. The firm started to develop this direction in 1997 and was the only operator of paging communication in Dimitrovgrad. At present this direction is closed.
Subscribers are provided with practically all possible options of additional services. In the near future it is planned to introduce a new service: a voice mailbox.
In 1998 the company was licensed by the Ministry of Communications № 10222 from 26.06.1998 and № 13194 from 11.11.1999 to provide services for data transmission and access to the Internet. We offer our clients a full range of services: from network access to hosting their WWW-servers and WWW-pages on the company's server.
The main policy of Variant-Inform in the sphere of information technologies consists in rendering high-quality telecommunication services to citizens and enterprises of Dimitrovgrad and Ulyanovsk region and is aimed at increase in the client base due to improvement in the quality of services and use of new technologies.
In 2000 the company completely upgraded its servers to more powerful ones, replaced the modem pool, built and put into operation in the second quarter of 2000 a radio-relay digital channel "Dimitrovgrad-Ulyanovsk". Today the company already offers digital channels for rent between Dimitrovgrad and Ulyanovsk from 64 kbit/sec to 2 Mbit/sec, providing access to national and global networks.
Access to the Internet via the dial-up network by multi-channel phone 6-12-50 is also provided. The technical capabilities of the company allow to serve all the owners of personal computers in Dimitrovgrad with the best possible quality.
In addition the firm provides Internet access through leased lines. The speed of the trunk channel at "Rostelecom" is 2 Mbit/sec. Thanks to its own 34 Mbit/sec radio relay channel the firm has a possibility to increase the speed at any time according to actual need.
"Variant-Inform works with state and commercial structures, with private individuals. Among its corporate clients are the Administration of Dimitrovgrad, SSC RF NIIAR, DAAZ, Kovrotex, Himmash, GazBank, AvtoVAZbank, State Television and Radio Company 43-Kanal, advertising agencies and organizations in Ulyanovsk.
Constantly extending its sphere of activity, since November 2000 the firm is the general representative of CJSC "Ulyanovsk-GSM" in Dimitrovgrad and sells and connects cellular telephones of digital cellular standard GSM-900, as well as provides SMS transmission and communication channels for connection lines of GSM base stations. A new type of service is on the way - IP telephony and radio access to the Internet via high-speed channels.
The firm is one of the founders of the city telephone company SvyazAtomInform, as well as the Ulyanovsk company Bee-Line.
