Blocking by Roskomnadzor
Since 2012, the Russian Federation has been adopting laws designed to control the Internet. These laws allow the authorities to block or restrict access to specific websites. In order to implement the laws, a black list, known as "the single register" of blocked sites, has been created. The Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology, and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) is in charge of maintaining it. The blacklisted sites are blocked by internet service providers all over Russia.
